MANILA, Philippines - The AMA Computer Titans are seeing action in the Manila Basketball League, organized by businessman Alex Wang, as part of its tuneup for upcoming collegiate tournaments like the forthcoming National Amateur Associations of Schools, Colleges and Universities.
Titans head coach Mark Herrera, who steered the Jr. Talk N Text to five championships in the annual Batang PBA, is fielding a rookie-laden team on his debut as coach of the Titans who last won the NAASCU in 2006 by defeating rival STI Colleges.
Comprising this year’s team are Jezer Calma, Ian Macaranas, Carlos Dizon, Dean Martin, Paul Jerome Carpio, Jason Jordan, Archie Bansil, John Santos, Jefferson Arceo, Joker Disipulo, Niknok Reyes, Aldrich Liwag, Miguel Magpantay, Aries Bautista and Russel Quiambao.
Herrera, newly appointed head of basketball operations of the school and current coach of the Nationa U-13 squad, is assisted by Edwin Ancheta and Eugene Bautista.
AMA University’s basketball program is supported by first vice president Arnel Hibo, school director Aldric Manrique and team owner Amable Aguiluz.
