- Ed Amoroso - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Around 300 Laguna cops, led by its police director and 92 civilians, took part in the PNP-Ironman Challenge 6: The Final Destination in Sta. Cruz, Laguna last weekend.

The quarterly event is part of the Laguna police force’s effort to enhance and test the lawmen’s physical strength, stamina, teamwork and endurance as well as those of the civilians, according to Laguna Police Director, Senior Superintendent Gilbert Cruz.

It is also staged to foster camaraderie among the police organization and the civilian community.

“Let’s enjoy the game with a safe and sound contest,” said Cruz.

The field included 31 stations represented by six policemen and 19 civilian teams from San Pedro City, Nagcarlan, Liliw, Sta. Cruz, Cabuyao.

The event featured 45 kilometers of biking (from Pagsanjan, Magdalena, Liliw, Nagcarlan to Barangay Calariya), rowing and the obstacle course at the San Luis Sports Complex.
