TRI United 2-day triathlon up in Batangas
MANILA, Philippines - The Tri United 2 fires off this weekend at the scenic Playa Laiya in San Juan, Batangas with the top triathletes disputing top honors in the two-day event.
Matthew O’Halloran, Kevin Eijansantos of Trimac, Dan Brown of Unilab Active Health and Carlo Pedregosa, also of Unilab Active Health, head the cast in the Elite male side which stakes P10,000 to the winner.
The event is set at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and at 6 a.m. on Sunday.
Defending champion Sandra Gonzalez of PLDT-Bike King banners the field in the ladies division, that also drew Monica Torres and the Unilab duo of Kim Mangrobang and Ani de Leon Brown.
The event, sponsored by Unilab Active Health, Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto, Province of Batangas, Playa Laiya, Dolfenal, Enervon HP, Hydrite, I-ON Energy Drink, Landco, BIKEKING, PLDT SME Nation, Pocari Sweat, TIMEX, Crystal Clear, Orbea, Explore Bohol, Corima, Runner’s World, Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Aboitiz Power, Weekend Warrior and SwimBikeRun.ph, will be broadcast live via online streaming using PLDT SME Nation’s service.

Events on tap in the first day are the 1-km swim, 30-km cycling and 7-km running in-and-around San Juan while the final day features the 2-km swim, 60-km cycling and 15-km running in the male Open, female Open, team competition, relay and age-group categories.
Over 500 participants have registered for the event, serving as the second of three races with the final leg slated on Nov. 10-11 at Ayala Alabang in Muntinlupa.
