MANILA, Philippines - After a finals stint in Germany, Treat Huey fell by the wayside early as he and new partner Austrian Oliver Marach lost to Russian Mikhail Elgin and Uzbek Denis Istomin, 6-3, 7-6 (4), in the opener of the Aegon International in Eastbourn, Great Britain the other day.
It was a sorry loss for Huey, seeded fourth in this weeklong tournament after finding a teammate in Marach, a 32-year-old Austria native who is ranked 25th by the ATP doubles.
Huey is coming off an impressive team-up with American Scott Lipsky with the duo reaching the finals of the Gerry Weber Open in Halle.
