NGAP Globe circuit resumes with Phl Srs
MANILA, Philippines - The NGAP Globe Business Amateur Circuit resumes next week with the staging of the Philippine Seniors Amateur Golf Championship with a mid-amateur division spicing up action in the event set June 27-29 at the Camp Aguinaldo Golf Club in QC.
The organizing National Golf Association of the Philippines has added the mid-am event to provide players in the 30-54 age-bracket a tournament where they could further hone their talent and skills.
That would ensure a wide-open battle for top honors not only in the Open division of the mid-am, set over 54 holes, but also in Classes A (handicap 5-10) and B (10.1-16) to be played over 36 holes in the event serving as part of the NGAP-Globe amateur circuit.
Focus will also be on the seniors play with Pepot Inigo going for back-to-back in the premier Open category after scoring a come-from-behind win over Mari Hechanova in last year’s final at Riviera.
Iggy Clavecilla is also expected to bounce back strong and re-claim the crown he won for five straight years since 2007 until he struggled last year and hobbled to finish sixth.
Others expected to contend for this year’s crown in the event, sponsored by Pancake House, Titleist and Golf Depot, are Rolly Viray, Florene delos Santos and Dave Hernandez.
