Anderson powers M Trucking to semis

MANILA, Philippines - Movie/TV star Gerald Anderson sizzled with 34 points to power third seed Mansoto Trucking to a 107-83 rout of CDO and into the semifinals of the MY League basketball tournament at the San Juan gym recently.

Anderson dazzled the crowd with his superb all-around game he spiked with five triples, including a buzzer-beater to end the third period.

Ryan Tolentino also shone for Mansoto Trucking by unloading 31 points.

Anderson, once considered to play for the NLEX Road Warriors in the PBA D-League, is one of the two celebrities seeing action in the tournament put up by commissioner Jeff Perlas, the other being JC Tioseco for Nougat.

Mike Resurection and Rommel Semilla fired 20 points each for CDO.

In the second game, ex-pro John Cardel scored 17 points as Air Asia downed Team WG, 86-79.

Meanwhile, action resumes today with the semifinal round with Nougat facing Air Asia at 7 p.m. and Hyundai E. Rodriguez tackling Mansoto at 8:30 p.m.
