Go foils Gandionco in Miñoza Jungolf Circuit

-

MANILA, Philippines - Lloyd Jefferson Go carded two solid rounds to deny Gio Gandionco’s bid for a three-leg sweep in the boys Class A of the Frankie Miñoza Jungolf Circuit recently at the posh Cebu Country Club course in Cebu.

After losing the first two legs to Gandionco in Del Monte and AltaVista, Go turned the tables on his CCC teammate with his 71-72-143 effort at their home course.

Gandionco yielded the fight right in the first round with an atrocious 79 but managed to redeem himself with a 71 the next day. Rupert Zaragosa finished a far third at 156 after a couple of 78s.

The Frankie Miñoza Circuit is part of the ICTSI Jungolf Circuit sponsored chiefly by ICTSI and also backed by Philippine Airlines, Pancake House, Teriyaki Boy, Sizzlin Pepper, Golf Depot, Friends of Jungolf, McDonalds, Pioneer Insurance and Inquirer Golf.

The tourney enjoys the patronage of the country’s most successful golfer and is held under the auspices of the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines as part of its talent development program.

Go’s younger sister, Lois Kaye, also won her division, the Class C 11-12 age group while Martina Miñoza prevailed again in the Class D 9-10 years bracket.

Carlo Villaroman, son of former world jungolf champion and now touring pro Carito, joined the winners when he topped boys Class C by three strokes with  his 162.

The other boys winners were Reymon Jaraula in the special division and Wei Wei Gao in Class B. Marie Aparilla was the girls Class E champion.
