MANILA, Philippines - Big Chill weathered a fiery charge by RnW Pacific Pipes in the second half for a 78- 68 victory that earned the Super Chargers an outright passage in the semifinals of the PBA D-League Foundation Cup.
Keith Jensen tallied 14 points while Jessie Collado and Alex Mallari added 13 apiece for Big Chill, which needed a closing 12-6 run to put away the determined Steel Masters.
“This is just our short term goal (semis). But the job is not yet done. We’re not contented by just making the semis. Our ultimate goal is to win the championship,” declared Big Chill coach Robert Sison, confident he has the tools to match up with the league’s elite.
“What I’m just trying to say is that we have a formidable team.”
Defending champion NLEX blasted Boracay Rum, 72-55, in the other game to complete a sweep of the elimination round.
