Ateneo, AMA duel for title

MANILA, Philippines - Ateneo and AMA Computer University take centerstage today as they begin their best-of-three final series today for the Seaoil-NBTC Junior Elite League title at the Jacinto Tiu Gym in Xavier School.

The two evenly matched teams will clash at 2 p.m. Both squads are coming off from similar tight victories in the semifinal round.

 The Blue Eaglets edged bitter rival La Salle-Greenhills, 60-57, to arrange a titular showdown with AMA Computer University in this tournament backed by Seaoil,  and San Miguel Corporation’s Purefoods Tender Juicy Hotdog, Star Margarine and Magnolia Spinner Ice Cream with Molten being used as the official ball.

AMA Computer U nipped Chang Kai Shek in another thrilling encounter, 74-72, of this tournament supervised by the National Basketball Training Center in partnership with the International Basketball Academy for grade school kids in the National Capital Region.

 The Eaglets will pin their hopes on James Gotladera and Xavier Jorvina, who spearheaded their team’s assault the last time out.

AMA Computer University will bank on the old reliable Christian Tanedo.
