MANILA, Philippines - Jun Reyes defied the odds to win the 10km trail run in the second Wild Mambu Trail Run and Aquathlon hosted by the Municipality of Mamburao in Occidental Mindoro recently.
Reyes finished the tough trail run in one hour, 40 minutes, nine seconds while Angelica Pletosu of Baguio clocked 1:10:45 to top the distaff side.
Tatax Almoro came in second to Pletosu with a 1:12:09 clocking while Katrina Dela Rosa took the bronze in 1:15:10.
In the Aquathlon competition of the event co-organized by the Philippine Skyrunning Association and the Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP), and sponsored by Smart and Alastre Beach Resort, Timothy Joseph Isla ruled the 1km swim, 10km run race in 1:26:29 unopposed while Kriska Rose Sto. Domingo pulled off a come-from-behind victory to win the ladies’ title in 1:40:29.
Mamburao Mayor Voltaire Anthony Villarosa expressed delight over the turnout of the two-in-one event where he joined the 10 km trail run.
Other winners were Karen Simbulan (mini-aquathlon), Adrian Pletosu (mini-aquathlon), Raymond Marchan (4.5km trail run) and Maria Charmie Ursolino (4.5km trail run).
