Perpetual Help, two others boost QF bid
MANILA, Philippines - Perpetual Help, San Beda-A and Adamson posted emphatic wins to boost their quarterfinal bids in the 18th Fr. Martin Summer Cup basketball tournament at San Beda gym in Mendiola last Tuesday.
Femi Babayemi fired 12 points while Scott Thompson added 11 markers as the Altas fended off the Trinity University of Asia Stallions, 76-66.
The Red Cubs drew big plays from Arvin Dave Tolentino down the stretch to beat the reigning Tiong Lian champions Chiang Kai Shek Dragons, 64-58, in junior action at the San Andres Complex in Malate last Thursday.

The Red Cubs, with Tolentino firing a game-high 21 points, notched their fifth consecutive victory in Group A of the junior division. The Baby Falcons, on the other hand, remained on top of Group B with a 4-0 slate.
In other results, the Our Lady of Fatima University Junior Phoenix routed the Perpetual Help Altalettes, 101-80, to move behind the Baby Falcons at 5-1, while Far Eastern University-FERN improved to 5-1 in Group A after thumping the University of Santo Tomas Tiger Cubs, 81-38.
The STI Olympians (4-1) turned back the Jose Rizal University Light Bombers, 78-62,
