Tams clinch last semis seat in CDL

MANILA, Philippines - UAAP champion Far Eastern University hacked out a tough 44-38 victory over UP-Diliman University to clinch the last seat in the Final Four of the Sandugo-Collegiate (basketball) Development League recently.

The Lady Tams, however, face a tough task in the semis as they drew No. 1 St. Benilde, which holds a twice-to-beat edge. Lyceum of the Phils. University took the No. 2 spot and the other incentive against National U.

The Lady Bulldogs bowed to University of Santo Tomas at the close of the elims.

Best player awardee Lore Rivera and Maica Cortes scored 15 and 17 points, respectively, for UST while Kristina Tolentino and Eden Alla chipped in 11 points apiece for NU.

LPU still has a game to play against winless Miriam College today at the Trinity University of Asia gym but the former is expected to breeze past its rival in the event backed by the Philippine Sports Commission, Gatorade, Phiten and Primovit Multivitamins.

In men’s division, NU, which beat Colegio de San Lorenzo, 57-45, recently, faces St. Benilde today with both teams disputing their final rankings in the semis.

The other semifinalists are Informatics and STI.
