Beermen show no mercy for Saigon

MANILA, Philippines - Semis-bound San Miguel Beer unleashed a huge second half run to rout Saigon, 83-68, and wrap up its AirAsia ASEAN Basketball League eliminations campaign with a sweep of the third round at the Tan Binh Stadium in Vietnam late Wednesday.

Nick Fazekas (24 points, 12 rebounds, four blocks), Leo Avenido (15 markers) and Duke Crews (12 points, seven boards, three blocks) took charge in a 23-10 exchange in the third quarter as the Beermen pulled away and cruised to their seventh straight win and a league-best 17-4 slate.

The top-seeded Beermen will carry the homecourt advantage in the playoffs. They will face either Westports Malaysia Dragons (11-10) or Indonesia Warriors (11-9) in the semis.
