MANILA, Philippines - Kart Wreckers Dylan Arambulo, Draeco Abalajon, Gabriel Cabrera and Raymond Cudala turned in impressive performances to rule their respective classes in Petron Karting Super Series’ second leg at the Batangas Racing Circuit recently.
Arambulo clocked 1:35.417 in the qualifying heat of the Cadet Expert/Novice class then posted the fastest lap-time of 1:34.668 in the finals.
Abalajon pulled off a surprise early in the Cadet finals, overtaking his Cadet Novice rivals in the circuit’s first turn but he miscalculated a tricky chicane and settled for a runner-up finish.
Hoping to duplicate his previous win, Cabarera, the Mini-ROK kickoff leg champion, likewise put up a good fight and posted the best lap time in the qualifying heat in 1:29.733. Like Abalajon, Cabrera’s miscalculation in BRC’s chicane relegated him to runner-up honors.
The troika is backed by champion team Fern-C Racing and Tough Gear and supported by Seaoil, Radiant Systems, Buendia Color Paint Center, Point Zero Project, K Designs, Ministop V.I.P. Suites, Uno Magazine and P1 Engines.
Cudala also proved to be a formidable foe in the Formula SL Novice by clocking in the fastest lap time in the qualifying heat at 1:27.139.
Despite a series of crashes throughout the pre-finals and finals that pushed him to the back of the grid, Cudala wowed the crowd by rallying his way up and ending with a nerve-wrecking photo finish for runner-up honors.
Impressed with the boys’ dramatic showdowns in their respective classes, racing icon Edgen Dy-Liacco has pledged to take the Kart Wreckers under his fold to further develop their racing prowess. The boys will again be seen in action in the series’ Boomland leg later this month.
