Junior bowlers propel TBAM to youth crown
MANILA, Philippines - The Tenpin Bowling Association of Makati (TBAM) leaned on its national junior players to rule the boys’ and girls’ team events of the 20th National Bowling Youth Championship at the E-Lanes Bowling Center in Ortigas over the weekend.
The quartet of Kenneth Chua, Ivan Malig, Enzo Hernandez and Collin Jose combined in the first and second blocks to assemble a 4933 and secure the boys’ team event gold medal.
Team Prima’s Kevin Custodio, Biboy Tajo, Ariel Young and Ren Cremen had 4732 for silver while Manila Tenpin Bowling Association’s Louie Chuaquico, EJ Lara, and LA Lara finished third with 4671.
TBAM also ruled the women’s team event as Patricia Tajo, Madeline Llamas, Krizziah Tabora and Janine Kuwahara combined for 4621.
Bernadette Ipapo, Xyra Cabusas, Sam Lagcao and Alexis Sy of Prima settled for silver medal with 4050 while Pearl Bowlers Association of the Philippines’ Niqui Bernabe, Anne Ramirez, Anne Marie Kiac and Jai Ramirez placed third with 4000.
Meanwhile, Enzo Hernandez and Krizziah Tabora of TBAM bagged the boys’ and girls’ singles masters crowns.
Hernandez scored 2663 to beat fellow TBAM player Kenneth Chua (2551) and Biboy Tajo (2400) while Tabora made 2466 to defeat Patricia Tajo (2418) and Alexis Sy (2240).
In the all events class, Kenneth Chua topped the boys’ category with 3881 from team, doubles and singles divisions while Madeline Llamas scored 3532.
TBAM also won the Perpetual trophy for winning the most number of events in the tournament organized by Philippine Bowling Congress Youth chairman Alex Lim and PBC president Ernesto Lopa.
Event that also served as a qualifier for the national youth pool from where the PBK will select the representatives to the 2013 Asian Youth Championships.
