Loic lifts Nomads to joint 5th in UFL

MANILA, Philippines - Nomads Auction Manila leaned on Toullec Loic’s early goal as it turned back a fighting Navy Red Juice, 1-0, to jump into a share of fifth spot with Air Force Phoenix FC in the First Division of the United Football League at the University of Makati field in Makati.

Loic scored the only goal of the match right on the fourth minute and the Nomads just played tough defense the rest of the way despite playing 10 men late in the encounter following the ejection of Dominic William Mensah, who was assessed a pair of yellow cards.

The win sent Nomads alongside Air Force at No. 5 with 12 points on three wins and the same number of draws against five losses while Navy reeled to its 10th defeat against a win and a deadlock that sent it closer to relegation to the second division.

Global FC leads the division with 30 points followed by Loyola Meralco Sparks FC at No. 2 with 25, Kaya FC at No. 3 with 24 and Stallion Gilligan’s FC at No. 4 with 20 points.

In Second Division action, Pachanga regains the solo lead with an 8-0 demolition of Team Socceroo with 40 points on 13 wins against a draw that also boosts its promotion to Division One.

Idle Diliman Victory Liner FC fell from first to second spot with 38 points on 12 triumphs and two standoffs.

Dolphins United FC and Laos FC, for their part, fought to a 1-1 draw while Cebu Queen City United overpowered Lions Meltique Beef FC, 7-0, to boost its campaign.
