NCA derby produces six champs

MANILA, Philippines - Six champions and nine runners-up emerged from the National Cockers Association (NCA) 5-cock derby circuit held March 27.

These are Gov. Ito Ynares’ Binangonan BJ, EDR, Butchoy, Lito Roque, and Alberto Cruz’s Ika Sagupaan Nationwide, Mayor Elan Nagaño’s Sanleo, Rudy Albano’s Mulawin, Mayor Boyet Joson’s MBJ and Rep. Patrick Antonio’s Sagupaan 15.1M 9-Cock. With three points each are Harold’s Harsy 40 Footer, Teves Brothers’ Tiffany and GCT, Rep. Claude Bautista’s CPB JGT AAO, Mario Villamor’s Phoenix, Gerry Ramos’ AAO Hitcock, Ernie Austria’s Firefly 13, Bebot Uy’s SF Firefly 11 and SF Firefly 12, and Arman Santos’ Jade Resort 2.

The NCA derby last March 27, 2012 was hosted by Charlie “Atong” Ang, and Joel and Danny Teves. The next derby will be held on April 10, 2012, Tuesday, and will be hosted by Mario Villamor, Henry Tan, and Gov. Ito Ynares.

The NCA is the only organization of cockfighting aficionados that supports four scholars at the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Two scholars are taking up Veterinary Medicine while the other two are taking up Agriculture, majoring in Animal Science with specialization in poultry production. Providing scholarships is the NCA’s way of helping well-deserved Filipino students who excel in their academics, but are in need of financial assistance. More!
