Karting clinics slated at Carmona racetrack

-

MANILA, Philippines - Registration for the last two karting clinics of the Castrol Champions of the Future discovery program is ongoing.

Classes will be held April 1 and 15 at the Carmona racetrack in Cavite.

Organized by Castrol Philippines and Tuason Racing School, the country’s premier racing school, the clinics are aimed at providing young racing enthusiasts a venue where they could develop their skills and live up their racing dreams this summer.

“We want to make sure that this summer, the real talents will have no excuse not to come out and be discovered as future karting champions.  We’re hoping these real talents would make the final cut,” said TRS president JP Tuason.

The event is presented by Castrol and Tuason Racing School and sponsored by the BMW, Automobile Association Philippines, Philippine International Karting Association (PIKA), OMP, AUTS Racing, Industria Racing, Lifeline Ambulance, KZone. TimeZone, Hastravel, The Philippine STAR, and 99.5RT.

“It’s inspiring to see a bigger number of young kids joining us in our second season. But we don’t want to skip on the real talents and this summer is the best time to get them out of their shells to face their destiny as champion racers,” said Castrol president Mars Sota.

The Castrol Champions of the Future program was formulated in line with the thrust to discover and develop champion potentials, and also ensure the continuous transition of talents to intensify the development of Philippine motorsports.

The clinics are open for kids aged seven to 13 years old.

Nearly 100 aspirants have shown up in the past four karting clinics but only 20 will make it to the next round where they will battle each other in a three-race series at subsidized cost for the Castrol Champions of the Future Series crown.

The races are set April 22 in Carmona, May 20 at Boomland and the championship leg on June 24 at the Carmona Racetrack. Scholarship seats aside from other prizes are up for grabs for those who will be picked from the program.

Those who will not make the final cut may still have the chance to see action in the national karting series if they will be drafted or recruited by competing teams.

Interested parties may register online at www.championsofthefutureph.com or call the TRS secretariat c/o Aileen Urgelles and Abi at 820-4203.
