MANILA, Philippines - The Milo-sponsored BEST Center, which pioneered basketball clinics in the country in 1978, celebrates 10 years of its involvement in volleyball as it holds summer clinics in three venues in and around Manila.
The BEST Center volleyball clinics are slated April 9-30 with Monday and Thursday sessions at the Malate Catholic School for levels 1 and 2 from 8 a.m.-11:20 a.m.
The Starmall in Alabang will also hold clinics in Levels 1, 2 and 3 – also Mondays and Thursdays – from 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
From April 10-May 1, the Ateneo covered courts will also hold volley clinics in levels 1, 2 and 3 from 8 a.m.-11:30 a.m, Tuesdays and Fridays.
The BEST Center also holds an annual Milo Volleyball League, where graduates of the clinics show their talent and measure their development.
The BEST Center basketball clinics are also being held in various venues.
The AMA University in Road 20, Project 8 is offering Introduction to Basketball and Level 1 sessions, Mondays and Thursdays from April 9-30 from 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
The Ateneo covered courts on Katipunan Ave, have Monday and Thursday sessions for students in Introduction to Basketball Level 1 (all ages) and 2 (9-11 years old) to be held 8 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Levels 2 (12 and up), 3 and 5 will be held from 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
Tuesday and Friday sessions are also set at the Ateneo for levels 4 and 6, 8 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Christ the King seminary in E. Rodriguez Ave., QC will have Monday and Thursday sessions for students in Levels 1 and 2.
Amoranto Sports Complex will have 1 p.m.-4:30 p.m. sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays for students in Levels 1, 2 and 3.
The Oreta Sports Center in Malabon will also host BEST Center clinics on April 11-May 2 and the PATTS College of Aeronautics in Parañaque from April 12-May 3.
Basketball clinics are also set at the Malate Catholic School, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
The BEST Center was founded in 1978 by former national coach Nic Jorge, has been the sports clinic of choice of the youth and has produced many of the country’s top players, including Chris Tiu, Kiefer Ravena JV Casio, TY Tang and Joseph Yeo.
BEST Center and Milo have jointly and independently received awards and citations, including their respective Hall of Fame trophies from the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) and the Olympism Award from the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC).
