MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Azkals made history by finishing third in the just-concluded AFC Challenge Cup, an inspiring breakthrough that fueled the resurgence of the men’s national football squad and further boosted the development of the sport.

The Azkals held off the Palestines, 4-3, for a historic third place finish in the AFC in Kathmandu, Nepal last Monday.
