Best Center taps more venues for cage clinics

MANILA, Philippines - Due to insistent demand for more venues to accommodate more students, the pioneering Best Center sponsored by Milo will hold twice-a-week clinics in yet another site.

The AMA University in Road 20, Project 8 becomes the Best Center’s fourth venue in Quezon City offering Introduction to Basketball and Level 1 sessions, Mondays and Thursdays from April 9-30 from 1-4:30 p.m.

The Ateneo covered courts in Katipunan, however, is still the main hub of activities in Quezon City with Monday and Thursday sessions set for students in Introduction to Basketball Level 1 (all ages) and 2 (9-11 years old) to be held 8-11:30 am.

Levels 2 (12 and up), 3 and 5 will be held from 1-4:30 p.m.

Tuesday and Friday sessions are also set in Ateneo for students in Levels 4 and 6 from 8-11:30 a.m.

Christ the King seminary in E. Rodriguez Ave., Quezon City will have Monday and Thursday sessions for students in Levels 1 and 2.

Amoranto Sports Complex, meanwhile, will have 1-4:30 p.m. sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays for students in Levels 1, 2 and 3.

For venues outside of Quezon City, the Oreta Sports Center in Malabon will also host Best Center clinics on April 11-May 2 and the PATTS College of Aeronautics in Parañaque from April 12-May 3.

The Best Center was founded in 1978 by former national coach Nic Jorge, has been the sports clinic of choice of the youth and has produced many of the country’s top players, including Chris Tiu, Kiefer Ravena, JV Casio, TY Tang and Joseph Yeo.

Best Center and Milo have jointly and independently received awards and citations, including their respective Hall of Fame trophies from the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) and the Olympism Award from the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC).
