MANILA, Philippines - The CISV (Children’s International Summer Villages) celebrates its golden year with a golf tournament and family sports fests on March 26 at the Mt. Malarayat Golf and Country Club in Lipa City, Batangas.
The CISV-Phl event kicks off a year-long celebration of the CISV established in 1951 by Nobel Peace Prize nominee and psychologist Dr. Doris Allen, to envision a program where peace education and inter-cultural exchange could take root early in a person’s life, sowing the seeds of global friendship and a broader worldview that would bear fruit in adulthood.
Also lined up on the CISV activities is another Village in Cebu this August and a regional series of workshops to be hosted by the Quezon City chapter.
More than celebrating the past, though, the golf tournament will also be a tee-off for the future – a swing, a hope, and a wish for another 50 years to come, according to Leah Navarro of the organizing Golf and More.
