Rapid chessfest up at Alphaland

MANILA, Philippines - A chess tournament dubbed Isulong Mo! rapid chess tournament will be held March 25 at the Alphaland Southgate Mall, Chino Roces Ave., Ext. Makati.

The tournament, organized by Sicilian Chess Club and Basham Sports and Games Shop in partnership with Alphaland Southgate Mall headed by marketing managers Marvie Paule and Me-An Unay, features the non-master and kiddies (14-and-under) divisions.

The non-master winner will get P5,000 plus trophy while the kiddies champion will receive P3,000 plus trophy.

Category winners in the college, ladies, seniors (55-and-above) and 1950 (rating) and below will also receive cash prizes plus medals along with the winners in the kiddies, ladies and 10-and-under categories.

Women players are also eligible to join the non-master division.

Registration fee is P250 for non-master and P200 for kiddies on a first-come, first-served basis with the field limited to 240 players in all divisions.
