Big guns make waves in JSAP jet ski

-

MANILA, Philippines - Top favorites and world jet ski veterans Paul del Rosario and BJ Ang stamped their class to dominate their respective divisions in the second leg of the JSAP National Jet Ski Tour dubbed the second San Fernando City jet ski tournament at the Sea Park Beach Resort in San Fernando City, La Union.

Del Rosario came up with another double victory after ruling both the premiere Pro-Am and Stand-up classes while Ang captured the Pro-Am Stock category, turning back lady riders Jam Mangio and third placer Abby Reyes in the event held as part of the city’s fiesta celebrations.

Del Rosario flashed top form to beat Mike Mangio and third placer Pong Lee for the Pro-Am Open class crown. He later topped the Stand-Up class over Jam Mangio and Abby Reyes.

San Fernando City Councilor Alfred Ortega also surprised the field by topping the Veterans class over Junior San Juan and Ariel Garcia in the event organized by the Jet Sports Association of the Philippines (JSAP) and sponsored by the City of San Fernando, La Union.

Another Manila rider, Fritz Ortiz, clinched the Novice Runabout 4-Strokes title over Mark Christopher Ortega and Junior San Juan.

The rough water condition proved to be a big challenge with Ang losing to two lady riders Jam Mangio and Abby Reyes in Moto 2.

The tough condition likewise caused a racing incident involving Ang, Jam Mangio and Abby Reyes in Moto 3 of the Pro-Am Stock division.

Mangio got stuck with a big wave, sending her ski flying and crashing on top of Ang, who, however, escaped injuries.
