MANILA, Philippines - Interest will be on three five-year-olds when the Mayor Nilo Leyble Invitational Swimming Cup, 21st leg of the Philippine Swimming League circuit, gets going today at Antipolo.
The swimmers are Marc Dula of Northern Samar, a new recruit of the Susan Papa Swimming Academy, and fellow kiddie bets Alia Joy Carballo from Olongapo and Maxine Ugaban from the Aquaspeed Swim Team.
Over 200 swimmers from different regions, from Baguio to Angeles, Olongapo, Davao, Pampanga, Cavite, Batangas, Quezon City and guest team Manila, are competing in the event hosted by Antipolo Mayor Leyble in cooperation with the Bosay Swimming Club headed by coach Emer Matienzo.
Competition will be for 6-under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17 and 18 and over.
The swim meet is part of the monthly swimming circuit held by the PSL in partnership with the Diliman Preparatory School under former Sen. Nikki Coseteng.
The top finishers will receive gold, silver and bronze medals, while the swimmers with the most number of points in each category will be awarded a trophy made of solid mahogany with cut laser icon and text designed by the host swim club.
