MANILA, Philippines - The Guzzlers humbled defending two-time Super A Division champion Cebuana Lhuillier, 15-10, to rule the 19th Pangaea Cup Slo-pitch Softball International tournament at the Clark Field parade grounds in Pampanga recently.
Earlier, Cebuana Lhuillier edged 2011 finalist Fattboyz, 11-7, to clinch a seat in the finals while the Guzzlers finished off the Fattboyz’s title dream with a 20-5 rout to book the other finals berth.
The Guzzlers’ victory also avenged their earlier 3-5 loss to the Cebuana side.
In Division A of the tournament sponsored by Clark Development Corp., Tequila Reef Cantina, SMB, Magnolia Water, Department of Tourism, Smokey’s, and Outbox, the China Reds posted a lopsided 20-3 win over the Taipei Kings to claim the crown.
The Meralco Sluggers emerged the club division champions after beating the Cocobay Stingrays, 6-1, in the tournament which served as part of the Asian Slo-pitch Softball Association series.
The three-day tournament was organized by Pure Play Sports Management.
