Pacquiao invited to lead Be Honest run

-

MANILA, Philippines - Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao has been invited to lead the “Be Honest Run 2012” firing off March 17 at the IMAX parking lot on Seaside Blvd. at the Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City.

“We believe that Pacquiao is a role model as a Filipino who has raised his family and helped his countrymen through his honest and truthful efforts,” said race director Alberto Bugayong of the organizing Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP).

A non-stock, non-profit organization, registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission with 30,000 members nationwide, the BCBP launched the Be Honest Run in conjunction with its 32nd national anniversary celebrations.

The event will be fired off at 4:30 a.m. Events on tap are the 15K, 10K, 5K, 3K and 500 meters with organizers expecting more than 5,000 runners. Entry fee is pegged at P550 per runner in any category.

“We believe that a high-profile running event to be attended by thousands is the best way to promote the ‘Be Honest’ advocacy, as well as spread the word of God on brotherhood and love,” said Bugayong.

Aside from the fun run, the other BCBP projects include honesty campaigns targeting public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers, oratorical contests in public schools and offering incentives such as “The Most Honest Award to students.”

For details, check the Be Honest Run Facebook page, call the BCBP office at 874-8470 to 71 or email [email protected].
