Lions, Lady Bulldogs rule Martin Cup

-

MANILA, Philippines - San Beda routed Arellano U, 89-66, to annex its third men’s division title while National U notched its first women’s crown with a 72-67 victory over St. Benilde in the eighth Fr. Martin Collegiate Open Cup basketball tournament over the weekend.

Jake Pascual scored a game-high 20 points, while Julius Armon hit 16 points and Romeo de la Rosa and Ola Adeogun added 15 and 14 markers, respectively, to power the Red Lions past the Chiefs in their winner-take-all match at the Trinity University of Asia gym in Quezon City.

The Lady Bulldogs, on the other hand, squandered a 14-point lead but leaned on Ma. Teresa Pama in the clutch to repulse the Lady Blazers.
