MANILA, Philippines - Top figures in the motorsports industries – Toleman-Pastor Asian Motorsport, Inc. – have signed an agreement to hold back-to-back Euro-Racecar Nascar Tours series in the Philippines and China in 2013.
TPAM officers will announce shortly the race track venues in the Philippines and China.
Jerome Galpin, CEO of Euro-Nascar Touring Car Series, signed the memorandum of agreement making this championship a world-class series by 2013.
Just recently Galpin signed an agreement with Nascar USA, making the Euro Nascar Racecar Series officially a NASCAR-USA Touring car series this year. This year’s winner will receive a fully sponsored drive at Nascar USA in 2013.
Ferdinand “Enzo” Pastor, who raced in the Euro Nascar last year, will be the first Filipino lead driver for the 2012 or 2013 series on the Euro Nascar.
“At this point, we are gathering sponsors’ support for hosting this grand prix event in our own country to give our Philippine/Asian team a double race – the V8 Supercar Series in Australia and the Euro-Nascar Touring car Series – where Enzo gave a remarkable performance last year in the V8 Supercar and in a triple 888 Team Vodafone, Euro NASCAR, during his test.
The older Pastor said TPAM is now preparing Enzo for this event and is scouting for an Asian co-driver who will participate starting the first week of April on their first race of the season in Nogaro, France.
