MANILA, Philippines - The much-sought-after motorcycle event “Moto Saya” is set on Feb. 25, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., at the Liberty Center, Shaw Blvd., in Mandaluyong.
Moto Saya is a monthly event aimed at instilling safety among motorcycle riders. It has a behavioral activity called “Obstakeliya,” an obstacle course competition which promotes “accuracy rather than speed” on the road.
The fourth Moto Saya was held Jan. 22 at the Golezeum Garcia Height’s Subdivision in Parañaque. Rep. Roilo Golez and Jordan Mijares, president of Parañaque Federation, inducted the officers of Armas ng Motorista, a civic organization “for and by” motorcyclist riders.
“Moto Saya sa Parañaque” gathered 800 riders from various motorcycle clubs and federations from Metro Manila and the provinces of Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, and Bicol.
The “Moto Saya sa Parañaque” was sponsored by Denso Spark Plug, Chicken Tsunami, Casumina Tire Center, Motorsiklo Ekslusibo and Inside Racing.
Ten more Moto Saya events are scheduled for 2012 and more motorcycle federations plan to stage the event in their neighborhoods.
Cyril Lorenzana, executive director of “Moto TV,” said he is developing entertainment synergies where riders can enjoy fast racing under a safe and controlled environment.
The next two Moto Saya will be held March 25 in Pasig, with the Pasig City Motorcyclist Federation as host, and on May 27 in Marikina, with the BTX Riders as host.
Motorcycle groups are invited to be a part of the Moto Saya movement. For information, visit www.7101filmsandevents.com or log on to mototv8@gmail.com
