MANILA, Philippines - Colegio San Agustin (CSA) and King’s Montessori School (KMS) collide in a duel for the second semifinal berth as action in the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League NCR leg shifts to the Toby’s Sports Arena in Pasig today.
With a 3-1 slate, the CSA tossers need one more win to join unbeaten Angelicum College (4-0) in the crossover semis but the KMS side, toting a 2-1 mark, is out to foil CSA bid and fuel its own Final Four drive in Pool B of the two-division tournament sponsored by Shakey’s Pizza and organized by Metro Sports.
Gametime is set at 3 p.m., capping a five-game bill that includes the De La Salle-Zobel (DLZ)-St. James College-Parañaque (SJP) match at 1 p.m.
The DLZ spikers, with a 2-1 card, have a lot of catching up to do with National University and Mighty Sports-Hope Christian School virtually clinching the two semis slots with identical 4-0 records in Pool A of the event backed by Toby’s, Mikasa and Asics.
St. James Academy-Malabon (SJM) and MGC New Life Christian Academy mix it up at 10 a.m., Rizal High School and Elizabeth Seton School square off at 11 p.m. while Univ. of the East and SJM face off at 2 p.m.
NU and HCS, meanwhile, dispute the top seeding at 2 p.m. tomorrow in a keenly awaited duel of fancied teams.
The top two teams in both divisions after the single round elims will clash in the crossover semis. The winners will dispute the NCR leg crown and a berth in the Tournament of Champions slated March 21-24 in Davao City.
