Deadline set for nominees to NGAP polls

MANILA, Philippines - The National Golf Association of the Phils. yesterday announced the deadline for nomination of club representatives to the coming Annual Council Meeting and NGAP biennial elections is on Friday with the polls set March 23 at the Manila Yacht Club.

The NGAP has urged those concerned to submit their written nomination and authorization for club representative to the NGAP nomination and election committee headed by Atty. Luisito Lantin of Alabang Country Club, chair of the Nomelec (Nominating and Election Committee) through e-mail ([email protected] or [email protected]) or fax (02-5211587).

 The other members of Nomelec are Philip Judan of Riviera, Ramon Uy of Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club, Rodolfo Angus of Philippine Navy Golf Club and Romeo Jamerlan, Jr. of Iloilo Golf and Country Club.

The current NGAP board is composed of Rod Feliciano (chairman), Sec. Leandro Mendoza (president), Danilo Pizarro (vice president), Jun Arceo (secretary-general), Pablo Soon (treasurer), Alice Ll. Andrada (auditor), and Jun Galindez, Caloy Coscolluela Jr. Federico Agcaoili, Tommy Manotoc and Jose Vilchez Jr. (directors) and Jake Ayson (executive officer).

Based on NGAP by-laws, nominees should be a bona fide member of a regular club in good standing and be of good moral character.  

Each regular member club in good standing will be entitled to one vote for every nine holes maintained and used in its golf course, provided in no case, a regular member’s votes exceed four, regardless of the number of holes maintained and used in its golf course.
