PBA marks V Day with cancer kids
MANILA, Philippines - The PBA holds a post Valentine’s Day kiddie party for patients of the Cancer and Hematology Center of the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) tomorrow with commissioner Chito Salud and at least four-five players from each of the 10 PBA member teams gracing the event.
The PBA chief and the league stars will interact and have fun with the kids who are undergoing treatment for various kinds of cancer.
The affair, also held in commemoration of the World Cancer Day, will start at 2 p.m.
The PCMC has been the adopted community of the 37-year-old league for three years now, having been the beneficiary of the PBA’s fund-raising projects in the past such as the Run For a Cause 1 and 2, and the recent “Blue vs Green: Dream Game 2012” exhibition match between college rivals Ateneo and La Salle at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
For the past two years, two units of chemotherapy machines had been donated by the league to the only cancer institute for children in the country.
The PCMC cancer and hematology center averaged 300 children patients daily.
