AdU cops UAAP softball title

MANILA, Philippines - Adamson University underscored its superiority with a masterful 11-1 conquest of hapless University of the Philippines, sweeping the UAAP Season 74 softball tournament to repeat as champions yesterday at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

Rizza Bernardino delivered an MVP performance, terrorizing the Lady Maroons throughout the abbreviated four-inning contest with her combination of twirling risers and drop balls while wielding a hot bat as the Lady Falcons won all their 10 games in the elims en route to their 11th overall title.

“Talagang nagpakita siya (Bernardino) ng kumpiyansa this season. Sinabi ko sa kanya na ikaw ang tatapos sa game na ito,” said a jubilant AdU coach Ana Santiago, whose charges now carry a 20-game win streak after duplicating their unbeaten title run last season.
