La Salle faces Ateneo in Lhuillier slo-pitch opener

MANILA, Philippines - La Salle opens its title defense tomorrow when it battles rival Ateneo in the eighth Cebuana Lhuillier alumni Slo-pitch Softball League at the International School of Manila in Taguig.

The Green Archers, led by veterans Mike Ochoa, Bernie Gapuz, brothers Anthony and Leslie Suntay and national team member Joseph Orllana, bagged last year’s ASSL title by beating UP Los Baños in the finals.

This year, the La Salle alumni team hopes to kick-start its back-to-back bid with a win over the Blue Eagles, who will be led by Nikko Diaz, Em Fernandez, Benjo Afuang, Ricky Gumaru, pitcher Jun Muyco and power hitting Mike Gayoso.
