MANILA, Philippines - Cebuana Lhuillier goes for a Grand Slam when it defends its crown as Super Division champion at the 19th PANGAEA Cup International Slo-pitch Softball Tournament, set March 2-4, in Clark Field, Pampanga.
Last year, the multi-titled Cebuana Lhuillier team was undefeated en route to a 14-9 victory over the US-based Fattboyz in the finals for a back-to-back victory following its winning the same division in the 2011 staging of the PANGAEA Cup, one of the country’s longest running softball tournaments now on its 19th year.
“We are looking forward to defending our crown and we are confident that our team will come up again with a good performance this year, more so that we are looking at a third straight championship,” said sportsman-businessman Jean Henri Lhuillier who also plays on the team.
The three-day tournament is expected to showcase 12 foreign softball teams and four local teams. Among the teams who will be seeing action are Guzzlers, Fattboyz, HK Turkeys, Saigon Sundays, China Reds, Blackouts, Tokyo Stingrays, Budweiser Kings, Singapore River Rats, and local team Meralco, Cebuana Lhuillier, Philippine Air Force, and the Entom Tigers.
This tournament , sponsored by Cebuana Lhuillier, Tequila Reef Cantina, San Migiuel Beer, and Clark Development Corporation, is part of the ongoing Asian Slo-pitch Softball League.
