Yakult 10-Miler hits road March 4 at CCP Complex
MANILA, Philippines - The 23rd Yakult 10 Miler, the second longest-running event in the country, fires off March 4 with a big field expected to see action at the CCP complex in Pasay City.
Set to start at 5:30 a.m., the event hopes to lure around 3,000 runners, including some of the country’s national athletes.
Akira Onose, Yakult Phils. Inc. executive vice president, and Michael Ong, manager sales and planning department, jointly announced at the contract signing with race organizer Rudy Biscocho that this year’s Yakult 10 Miler will be timed by MyLaps Bibtag System.
Entry fee is P450 with all participants receiving a starter’s singlet and all finishers to get t-shirts and a bottle of Yakult, the unique health drink with lacto bacilli shirota strain.
Registration starts Feb. 8 at the following Mizuno outlets: Trinoma Mall, SM Megamall and at the Bonifacio High Street at the Global City.
Since this is the first time that Yakult will be timed using the RFID technology, registration will be limited to 3,000 runners.
Topping the 10 Mile run last year was Kenyan Daniel Coringgo in 50:21 followed by compatriot Philip Ronoh in 50:27.
On the distaff side, Miscelle Gilbuena topped her division with a 1:05:19 clocking with Ailene Tolentino placing second in 1:07:39.
