La Salle spikers gun for 12th win; AdU nine eyes 8th
MANILA, Philippines - Dela Salle tries to extend its winning streak in women’s volleyball and men’s tennis while Adamson University shoots for its eighth straight victory in softball in UAAP Season 74 action today in various venues.
The Lady Archers eye a 12-0 win-loss record in women’s volleyball when they battle the hapless University of the Philippines (UP) Lady Maroons at 3:30 p.m. at the San Juan Arena.
Adamson University, on the other hand, tries to stay in the hunt for a seat in the semifinals and join early qualifiers De La Salle and Ateneo (9-2) when they take on University of the East (UE) in the other women’s volleyball game at 2 p.m.
The men’s volleyball matches pit Far Eastern University (FEU) at 9 a.m. and Ateneo against Adamson at 10:30 a.m.
In men’s tennis at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center, De La Salle guns for its eighth straight win against UP in the tie that starts at noon. Ateneo meets National University (NU) and University of Santo Tomas (UST) battles UE in the other men’s ties at 9 a.m., while in the women’s contest starting at noon, UP takes on Ateneo.
At the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium, Adamson University, unblemished in seven games, battles UE at 11:30 a.m. The other games pit UP against De La Salle at 7:30 a.m. and Ateneo against UST at 9:30 a.m.
In juniors baseball also at the Rizal diamond, it will be La Salle-Zobel against Ateneo at 3 p.m.
