Phl U-13, Jr PBA champs join nationwide support for victims

MANILA, Philippines - Coaches, players and parents of the National U-13 team and five-time Jr. PBA champion TnT and Meralco-QC donated canned goods and clothes in support of the nationwide disaster relief program for victims of Typhoon Sendong last December.

The Phl youth 13-under and Jr. PBA Talk N Text and Meralco was headed by coach Mark Herrera who organized the project with the cooperation of the players and their parents – Wilson and Earl Lagaras, Fort Dazo, Julian Jugo, Diego Rodrigo, Gian Mamuyac, Luigi Velasco, Joshua Santos, Stacey Tibayan, Vhenjo Maximo, Jerimiah Vizmonte, Michael Delacruz, Juan Carlos Garcia, Willis Siy, Louis Clarino, Jenver Dellamas, Richmond King, Kean Herrera and Jaime Cabarrus.

Also contributing to the nationwide support for the victims hardest hit by the national disaster in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan were Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte, Josephine Balon and Aldrich Manrique of AMA Computer School, People’s Tonight sports editor Ed Andaya, Bgy. chairman Gigo Garcia, 3K SCENT, Maynilad and PLDT.

“We thank all who gave their donations – clothes and canned goods for the Typhoon Sendong victims,” said Herrera.

The Phl youth 13-under and the current and former players of the Jr. PBA champion Talk n Text and Meralco team as well as the selection of players in different municipalities and provinces will play exhibition matches as part of the grassroots program of the Phl youth 13-under and the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) headed by chairman Manny Pangilinan, vice chairman Ricky Vargas and executive director Sonny Barrios.

Herrera is assisted by Edwin Ancheta, Whylee Dalida, Eugene Bautista, Wilson Lagaras and Monroe Cueson.
