ESS, AGC tossers dispute Toby's lead

MANILA, Philippines - Elizabeth Seton School (ESS) and Academy of God’s Children (AGC) clash today in a duel of unbeaten teams as action in the Toby’s Junior Volleyball League resumes at the Toby’s Arena in Pasig.

The ESS and AGC spikers swept their first two matches to share the lead with the idle De La Salle-Lipa (DLL) side in boys’ Pool B where Rafael Palma Elem. School (RPS) will be trying to even its card to 2-2 against winless Harrel Horne IS (HHS).

St. Jerome Emiliani Institute (SJE), meanwhile, goes for its third win in four games as it takes on Project 6 Elem. School (PSS) while Palanan Elem. School (PES) seeks its second straight win against St. Joseph College (SJC) in boys’ Pool B matches in the tournament sponsored by Toby’s Sports and organized by Metro Sports.

Games start at 10 a.m.

In girls’ play, De La Salle-Zobel (DLZ) also shoots for its second straight win and a share of the lead with Colegio San Agustin (CSA) in Pool B as it tangles with Miriam College (MIC) while MGC New Life Christian Academy (MGC) goes for its second win in three games against winless SJE in girls’ Pool A of the event backed by Shakey’s, Mikasa and Asics.

Defending champion Concepcion Elem. School (CES) steps its bid tomorrow as it goes for its third win in row against PSS while CSA tries to notch its second win in three games against St. James College (SJP), which totes a 1-2 card in boys’ Pool A.

DLL, meanwhile, guns for its third straight victory against ESS while HHS and AGC collide in the other boys’ Pool B match of the tournament featuring the country’s leading junior players in both ranks.
