Sea Lions gain NCRAA q'final

-

MANILA, Philippines - Olivarez College outplayed La Salle-Dasmariñas in the fourth quarter and romped off with a 67-52 victory to advance to the quarterfinal round of the 19th National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) men’s basketball tournament at the PATTS College of Aeronautics gym in Parañaque yesterday.

Nicholas Hailey came through with key baskets midway in the fourth, scoring 11 points as the Sea Lions booked their fifth straight victory to clinch the first seat in the Last 8 phase of the tournament backed by Molten and Mikasa Balls and ANI AgriNurture Inc.

Earlier, PATTS College of Aeronautics, with Emmanuel de la Cruz hitting 16 points, stopped Philippine School of Business Administration, 71-61, to notch its first win after dropping its first three games.

Olivarez, which also drew 18 points from John Flores, goes for a sweep against Philippine Merchant Marine School on Monday at the Olivarez gym.

The Mariners won by default over Emilio Aguinaldo College-Cavite, which showed up with the wrong set of uniforms last Friday.

The La Salle-Dasmarinas Patriots, meanwhile, remained in the hunt for a quarters seat as they nipped the PATTS Sea Horses, 70-69, also last Friday for a 2-2 card.
