Lady Bulldogs WBL's 25-U champs

MANILA, Philippines - National University held off Philippine Women’s U, 68-63, to cop the collegiate (25-years-and-under) crown of the Women’s Basketball League at the Xavier school gym recently.

Risa Mae Paig scored 25 points and went on to bag the MVP plum while Shelley Anne Gupilan backed her up with 18 points as the Lady Bulldogs thwarted the PWU belles series of rallies.

University of Santo Tomas beat Don Bosco Technical College, 67-50, for third place in the tournament organized by the Best Center and sponsored by Milo.

De La Salle-Santiago Zobel also pulled off a tough 51-49 win over Miriam College to pocket the 17-under competitive crown.

Assumption College bagged third place via a 54-49 win over St. Paul College-Pasig.

St. Bridget School beat Saint Pedro Poveda, 28-25, to annex the 17-Under Developmental crown while Colegio de Sta. Rosa Makati took third place with a 40-22 rout of Miriam College.

DLS-SZ defeated Miriam College, 31-26, to clinch the 13-Under title while Assumption took third place with a 22-5 romp over Saint Pedro Poveda.
