Salud bans NLEX exec for scuffle
MANILA, Philippines - PBA commissioner Chito Salud yesterday banned NLEX liaison officer Arnel Angeles from the PBA D-League for attacking Big Chill’s Raymond Maconocido during the two teams’ match last week.
Salud said the team official committed grave misconduct and unsportsmanlike behavior.
“His behavior has no place in our league, let alone in sports. It was absolutely unacceptable as he was not part of the apparent scuffle at all,” said Salud.
The incident took place with 6:13 to play in the third quarter with Big Chill ahead, 65-55.
As players from both teams fought for the loose ball, the team official walked inside the court and kicked the Big Chill guard in the head then returned to the bench as if nothing happened.
Big Chill won the game, 85-83.
