Perpetual off to big start in NCAA volley

MANILA, Philippines - Perpetual Help used its might and experience as it swept the men’s, women’s and juniors games against Lyceum in the 87th NCAA indoor volleyball at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The Altas beat the Pirates, 25-7, 25-13, 25-16, the Junior Altas likewise dominated the Junior Pirates, 25-16, 25-13, 25-16, while the Lady Altas beat the listless Pirates in another one-sided contest, 25-10, 25-11, 25-18.

Norie Diaz, Sandra delos Santos, Honey Rose Tubino and new setter Arianne Argarin combined in powering the Lady Altas to victory.

“Our new setter played really well on her debut and it was a key to our victory,” said Perpetual Help coach Mike Rafael referring to Argarin.

It was a tough loss for the Lady Pirates, who dominated the NCAA for almost a decade.
