Aragon, 11, off to sing anthem in Pacman tiff

MANILA, Philippines - Eleven-year-old singing sensation Maria Lourdes Aragon left yesterday for Las Vegas to sing the National Anthem in Manny Pacquiao’s showdown with Juan Manuel Marquez on Nov. 12 at the MGM Grand Garden.

“I really didn’t expect this. I just watched Manny Pacquiao’s fight ever since I was a little girl. Now I was tapped by Pacquiao himself to sing our National Anthem on Nov. 12,” said Aragon.

She added that she felt very blessed for “getting the chance to sing and seeing Pacquiao’s fight live.”

“I feel very blessed and it’s just amazing,” said Aragon. “I am very thankful to Manny.”

Aragon is a YouTube sensation who gained fame after doing her own version of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.”
