MANILA, Philippines - Ryan Palinawan of Hybrid Yaw Yan goes for a follow up to his explosive URCC debut when he battles Ukrainian Igor “Sugarfree” Subora for the vacant heavyweight crown in the URCC-Colt 45 XX today at the World Trade Centre in Pasay City.
Palinawan scored a knockout win over Marciano Basas in URCC’s Redemption where he pounded his rival with brilliant head and body combinations in a victory that impressed a number of mixed martial arts (MMA) experts.
But against the 6-foot-3, 250-pounder Subora, Palinawan will have to play real smart to snap his rival’s three-game winning streak in the event co-presented by Tribal and backed by Frenzy Condoms, Chris Sports, Anzahl Paints, Yoshinoya, VRP Medical Center and World Trade Center.
Four other title bouts in the 10-fight affair are also on tap, including the Superfight between interim bantamweight champion Jessie Rafols and top featherweight contender Red Romero, and the grudge showdown between Australian Nicholas Mann and Deftac’s Chris Luna for the vacant URCC light-heavyweight clash.
Froilan Sarena is staking middleweight title against Dexter Mistades and Honorio Banario his lightweight crown against Patrick Manicad.
