MANILA, Philippines - The Basketball Efficiency and Scientific Training Center, more popularly known as the BEST Center and the country’s pioneering group organizing sports clinics and tournaments, will hold its last basketball sessions for the year starting Sunday at the Festival Mall in Alabang.
Courses in Introduction to Basketball (levels 1, 2, 3 and 4) from the Best Center’s tried and tested modules that have been credited for the development of many star basketball players, including Kiefer Ravena of the Ateneo Blue Eagles, are being offered in the season-ending clinics.
Former national coach Nic Jorge, BEST Center’s founding chairman, said the Milo-sponsored clinics at the Festival Mall is one of the only few venues hosting courses in Level 4.
Best Center is an Olympism awardee of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) and a Hall of Fame winner in the Philippine Sportswriters Association’s (PSA) elite roster.
Meanwhile, the Mindanao regional finals of the Small Basketeers Philippines (SBP)-Passerelle twin tournaments are set Nov. 5 and 6 at the Almendras gym in Davao.
Champion teams from Zamboanga, Davao, General Santos and Cagayan de Oro, will be taking part in the event.
