MANILA, Philippines - Trigiving, a charitable initiative of the Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP) in cooperation with the Anvaya Cove Beach and Nature Club, will be launched when the fourth Anvaya Cove Invitational Triathlon is fired off Nov. 5 and 6 in Morong, Bataan.
Open to age groupers, aspiring triathletes and other sports enthusiasts, the race highlights the Anvaya Cove Beach and Nature Club’s commitment on preserving Anvaya’s natural environment as well as their charitable act of giving back to the community in support of aspiring athletes, coaches and technical officials based in the surrounding barangays including Anvaya’s employees. Trigiving will be done in conjunction with the global project of the International Triathlon Union (ITU).
In the event sponsored by Globe Telecom, Ayala Land Premiere, Century Tuna, Gatorade, Folded and Hung, and Subic Shutter Club, participants in the sprint and relay categories will be challenged with an extended race course in which they will swim 1.2 kms in open sea water, bike 32kms And run six kms around Anvaya.
For the SuperTriKid participants, the distances for different age groups are: ages 9-10 200m swim-2km bike-1km run, ages 11-12 300m swim-4Km bike 2km run, ages 13-15 400m swim-8km bike-3km run. Participants aged 8-and-under will take part in the aquathlon side event which will be composed of a 15-meter swim and 200m run.
