Ledesma powers METTA to title

MANILA, Philippines - National player Ting Ledesma delivered the win for the Metropolitan Table Tennis Association recently in the Hua Ching National Foundation Invitational team championship in Mandaue, Cebu.

Ledesma came back in the deciding singles to help METTA post a narrow 2-1 win over Lopue’s Table Tennis Association Team B (LOPTTA) in the finals to snare the title.

Down 0-2 in the best-of-three last singles, Ledesma took the last three sets to beat Jong Ortalla, 8-11, 7-11, 11-9, 11-6, 14-12, on the way to METTA crown.

“We are very glad to become part of the tournament’s movement to provide children and students with free education as scholars,” said Ledesma. “I also come from poverty that’s why I’m so happy to be part of this tournament.”
