MANILA, Philippines - As the 2011 season comes to a close, drivers hand-picked by the HKS Super Oil Team are putting in stellar performances in their respective disciplines – in both grip and drift categories and even in drag racing.
In the Lateral Drift Series, Team HKS’ Audel Sison a.k.a. Dr. Drift, drove his Nissan Silvia named “Jawbone,” to the 2011 Overall Lateral Drift title despite having to borrow his teammate’s car for practice.
Over 150 riders participated in the Philippine Drag Racing Federation (PDRF) Nonoy Jarlego Cup, held Oct. 15 in honor of PDRF co-founder Nonoy Jarlego and supported by HKS Super Oils, at the Omni Aviation Dragway at the Clark Freeport Zone.
Marlon Villarin of SE Racing took the Nonoy Jarlego Cup and Hot Street event over Aldrich Dizon.
The other top finishers in the Hotstreet Bracket Class were Ednel Heshan (first-runner up) and Jannery Millet (second runner-up).
Streetstock winners were Dizon followed by Michael de Guzman and Jeannette Go. Best reaction-time-of-the-day honors went to Chester Ngo (0.502 R/T).
